Born in 1990, Kev is an Irish Digital Artist, Creative Director, and Live Experience Designer whose career spans over a decade of multi-disciplinary intermedial work. After co-founding Algorithm Productions in 2015 (serving as Creative Director until 2022), Kev is now pursuing an MPhil in Digital Art and Intermedia Practices at Trinity College Dublin.
Creative Direction & Live Experience Design
Building on a background in video production and VJing, Kev’s multi-sensory approach informs the immersive projects he creates for festivals, live concerts, and urban media interventions. He integrates music, projection mapping, and interactive elements to craft dynamic, audience-focused narratives. His direction emphasizes co-creative processes, fostering collaborative ecosystems that value clear communication, ideation, and a commitment to sustainability.
Art x Advanced Technologies
Kev continuously experiments and evolves his craft, expanding the possibilities of digital scenography and immersive installations. By developing adaptive visuals that respond to both space and audience, he seeks to cultivate environments where creative processes flow toward sustainable and ecological works. He also integrates insights from esoteric teachings, ecological philosophy, and posthumanist thought, aligning personal creative growth with broader cultural and environmental paradigms. His work explores how technology can serve as a bridge to deeper, more reflective engagement with nature, rather than as a force of detachment or excess.
Teaching, Research & Collaboration
Beyond production, Kev has guest-lectured at institutions such as the National College of Art and Design (NCAD), sharing insights into digital art, intermedia practices, and emergent creative technologies. He is the founder of VJ-Eire, a community platform supporting visual artists, technologists, coders, and VJs in Ireland, reflecting his interest in localizing advanced technologies and nurturing regional creative networks. His recent research delves into Generative AI and emerging technologies, exploring how scalable visual content can be produced while striking a balance between innovation, sustainability, and audience participation.
Vision & Ongoing Practice
Rooted in co-creative methodologies and a multimedia approach, Kev’s work is driven by the desire to create art that fosters presence, awareness, and connection in an era of increasing fragmentation. His practice is guided by collaborative ideation, ecological consciousness, and the integration of emerging technologies, engaging with digital art as a medium for re-embodiment rather than disconnection.
Rather than seeking to counteract entropy, Kev’s work explores ways to coexist with complexity, using digital and interactive experiences to cultivate meaningful human and ecological relationships. Whether directing large-scale productions or facilitating community-driven creative spaces, he remains dedicated to understanding how art can function as an anchor within the flux of the Anthropocene, reorienting us toward deeper, more grounded engagement with ourselves, each other, and the planet.
